How to Write a Bang-up Bio

So many professional profiles on LinkedIn or Facebook are dry, boring, and laced with alphabet-soup credentials. What a waste. The new social media offers an opportunity to set ourselves apart from the pack instead of crawling into the same den with everyone else.

How to Write a Bang-up Bio walks you through four steps that result in an attention-getting bio: Brainstorm with Yourself; Show, Don’t Tell; Stick to Your Brand; and Edit for Success.  It also dispels four myths about bios: Keep it Short; Write in Third Person; Avoid Personal Information; Write in a Professional (a.k.a. stuffy) Style. You’ll leave with a good start on a fresh, engaging bio.

And you’ll be able to adapt everything you learn from this presentation to any and all writing projects—from sales proposals and cover letters to blogs and newsletters. Lynda will share ways to jump-start your writing, design and write an exciting middle, and craft compelling calls-to-action.
